SIDAS has opened its world first official company store in Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Founded in France in 1975, SIDAS is a well-established brand of insoles in Japan, boasting cumulative sales* of over three million pairs of insoles in the country.
The company provides insoles to more than 150 top athletes annually. We get requests to make insoles every day from athletes who are experiencing foot problems and want to be able to perform to their fullest potential. Many of them have been repeat customers for many years, having felt the benefits so much that they all say, "I can't imagine playing without my insoles."
As a globally recognized brand operating in 45 countries, we opened the world's first SIDAS company store in Aoyama, Minato-ku, in the hope of bringing our insole creation technology and our unique in-house equipment for diagnosis and molding to a wider audience.*Sales numbers are for the period between 1982 and 2023.

After graduating from college, he worked in sales at Comfortable, the predecessor of SIDAS, and later began creating premium custom insoles for SIDAS. As a SIDAS athlete specialist, he has created more than 5,000 pairs of insoles. He received his technician certification from SIDAS's medical field brand "PODIATECH" at the company's headquarters in France in 2019. He has earned the trust of many top athletes supported by SIDAS, such as basketball B-League players, J-League soccer players, professional baseball players, and professional golfers, thanks to his proven skills.

Top athletes, who are expected to always perform at their best, must train diligently and not miss a single day of practice in order to keep up with their rivals competing for top positions. Because of these demanding circumstances, athletes often suffer from foot injuries, and we are often contacted to help them adjust their insoles so that they can still continue to perform. By assessing a client's posture and gait balance, we are able to determine the deflection of the center of gravity and any foot problems, which are then used to create the insoles. The important thing is designing an insole that allows the client to use and move the muscles they have trained smoothly, without overcorrection.

    Checking the left-right balance using foot pressure

    Before thermoforming the insoles, we evaluate your condition. The result is an insole that is designed to maintain equilibrium in the body.

    Visualizing the center-of-gravity shift that happens when you walk

    When it is inward, it may lead to bunions. If it is more outward, it may lead to lower back pain ... and you can predict the physical problems that can arise from this.

    Evaluating the timing and trajectory of your steps

    We check to see if there is a significant difference in the ground contact time between the left and right foot, and where the forward motion ends. If you can produce a steady forward motion from your toes it is an indication that your power output is efficient.

Why do we need insoles?

Shoes themselves are constantly evolving and becoming more functional, but the insoles they come with have not undergone any transformation. The insole plays an important role in connecting the foot to the shoe. If this part of the shoe does not fit well, the shoe will not be able to deliver the performance it is designed for.

Top athletes realize the importance of this most in the midst of competition. SIDAS believes that the most effective insoles are those that support the "arch and heel." The foot has "three arches" that support the body's weight and are at the heart of human movement. As custom insoles encase and support the heel as well as the arch, they provide better balance.

After you fill in your information for your patient record, our professional staff will check your foot problems and condition. Please bring the shoes in which you plan to insert the insoles, and we will give you advice on sizing and shoe selection.

We measure the foot length, width, arch height, etc.

Using a special "Presscam" machine, the left-right balance of the body and the pressure applied when walking are measured.

We identify the "body position" that provides the best balance. We review the design image of the actual insole to be created.

Molding and shaping

While taking a foot mold with SIDAS's unique "Vacuum System," the insole is fine-tuned by a Meister based on the information gathered previously to create an insole that perfectly fits the sole of the foot.
